 2016 Preview

R.C. Hatch finished the 2015 season with a disappointing 3-7 record. Last year R.C. Hatch just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 2A region four with a 2-4 region record.

The Bobcats have never won a playoff game in the school's history. They would like to break through and pick up that first post season victory in 2016.

The offense struggled putting points on the score board as R.C. Hatch averaged scoring just 13.9 points a game.

Since 2010, R.C. Hatch has gone a combined 20-41. Their 33.0% winning percentage ranks 44th in Class 2A over the past six seasons.

Over the past 25 seasons, R.C. Hatch has not won much with a record of 34-194. Their 15.0% winning percentage ranks 57th in Class 2A and 377th in the AHSAA. The Bobcats have struggled on the football field with only two winning seasons during this time.

The Bobcats are led by head coach Jammie Abraham who is entering his fifteenth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 29-106 over the past fourteen seasons at R.C. Hatch. Under his direction the Bobcats have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Abraham.

Coach Abraham's overall record as a head football coach in fourteen season stands at 29-106 (21.5%).

The R.C. Hatch Bobcats will play in Class 2A region four during the 2016 season. R.C. Hatch will face six opponents that reached the playoffs last season.

It will be an uphill battle for the Bobcats if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region four this season.

The Bobcats open the 2016 season on the road against non-region opponent A.L. Johnson on Friday, August 19 at A.L. Johnson Stadium. Last year the A.L. Johnson Eagles finished with an overall record of 3-7 and in third place in Class 1A region four. The Eagles lost in the first round of the Class 1A playoffs to Brantley by a score of 35-12.

R.C. Hatch and A.L. Johnson have met a total of 20 times on the football field. The Bobcats have a 7-13-0 record against the Eagles. They last met in 2015 with R.C. Hatch winning by a score of 20-12.

Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

In 1969 the two point conversion was adopted for play following a touchdown. Until that time all conversions were worth one point.
